Out of Exile
Sun, Dec 03, 2017
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Hosea 6:1-6
&
Hosea 14:1-3
Series:
He Loves Me. He Loves Me Not.
Duration:
45 mins 36 secs
God welcomes us back to Him when we drift. He is our refuge, our hiding place, our home. People in Hosea's day needed this reminder as they faced exile (by Assyria). They had lost their bearings. Their relationship with God had thinned. But He welcomed them back. He always welcomes a come back.

In Bed with Politicians
Sun, Nov 26, 2017
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Hosea 5:1-14
Series:
He Loves Me. He Loves Me Not.
Duration:
42 mins 44 secs
We put too much weight on our politicians (and they too much on themselves). They are not men and women in positions of influence; they are not messiahs. Sadly, we can put more trust in them to solve our problems than God, who sets people in their seats of power. Hosea calls his people to look past politics to find spiritual solutions to spiritual problems.

In Bed with Idols
Sun, Nov 19, 2017
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Hosea 4:1-19
Series:
He Loves Me. He Loves Me Not.
Duration:
45 mins 50 secs
Americans like comfort. Yeah, verily, we love it. Our culture seduces us into a life of ease and soft beds. Sadly, this can rob from our intimacy with God. Hosea speaks out against godless character, and no good conduct in Israel. At the root is a great love for idols (and comfort) than God.

Family Problems
Sun, Nov 12, 2017
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Hosea 1:4-2:23
&
John 19:26-27
Series:
He Loves Me. He Loves Me Not.
Duration:
46 mins 58 secs
Family life brings tremendous joy and terrible pain. As dysfunctional as family relationships may be, family members are difficult to disown. God knows something of family problems in his relationship with Israel. Hosea knows something of family problems with his wife and children. We know something of family problems, too. Fortunately, bitter family problems get better with God... someday.

A Painful Marriage
Sun, Oct 29, 2017
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Hosea 1:1-3
&
Hosea 3:1-5
Series:
He Loves Me. He Loves Me Not.
Duration:
42 mins 58 secs
God asks Hosea to take a harlot bride. Then she has bastard children. It's not a great life for Hosea, but it is a sympathetic one. First hand, he experiences the painful, tainted-love marriage God had with Israel. And he serves as an historical example of how we are called to love the least deserving.

Do Not Worry
Sun, Oct 22, 2017
by
Rock LaGioia
Passage:
Matthew 6:25-34
Duration:
43 mins 6 secs
Worry comes naturally. Whether we are considering our health, finances, family relations, academic performance, or upcoming plans, it is easy to have an unhealthy fear. Jesus diagnoses our worries, but assures us they are unreasonable, unbelieving, unbecoming, and unnecessary. Trust is God - who feeds the birds and clothes the grass - is a better posture.

Come to the King's Table
Sun, Oct 15, 2017
by
Jacob Vickers
Passage:
2 Samuel 9:1-13
Duration:
44 mins 39 secs
Hear of King David's compassion on Jonathan's Son Mephibosheth. He presents a beautiful picture of covenant loyalty. He also gives a glimpse of the seeking and inviting Jesus provides us.

Bigger, Newer, Better Syndrome
Sun, Oct 08, 2017
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Luke 12:13-21
Series:
Parables of Jesus
Duration:
37 mins 27 secs
Greed affects all of us. It speaks from our heart, making four common claims. Jesus challenges greed in a memorable parable about a man who wants a bigger, newer, better barn. It doesn't end well for him. Fortunately, greed has an antidote: Generosity.

Love One Another
Sun, Oct 01, 2017
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
John 13:33-34
&
John 15:9-13
Series:
#LifeTogether
Duration:
37 mins 7 secs
Love is the highest, greatest, most comprehensive virtue. All the other "one another" commands flourish under the umbrella of love. Without love, we live out of mere duty or formality. To give love, we must first receive love from it's Divine source. This sermon invites us to receive God's love so we can give it to others.

Submit to One Another
Sun, Sep 24, 2017
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Ephesians 5:15-21
Series:
#LifeTogether
Duration:
41 mins 36 secs
If you're under 65 years old, the word "submit" makes you cringe. You are self-sufficient. You make your own rules. You follow the beat of your own drum. Thus the biblical call to "mutual submission" startles you. Take the test: Seven Signs that Submission Is Not Your Strong Suit." You'll see. And once you admit you try to hard to control others, you might consider letting the Spirit take greater control in your #LifeTogether.
