PRO*YOU
Sun, Apr 29, 2018
by

Passage:
Matthew 22:34-46
&
1 John 3:16-18
Series:
PROTEST
Duration:
44 mins 53 secs
Jesus's Great Commandment linked loving neighbor with loving God. Our vertical relationship intersects with our horizontal ones. Sadly, Christians have a reputation for being hateful, judgmental, and unwelcoming. Jesus envisioned a greater love, a greater posture, a PRO*YOU stance toward others. This means ordering our affections, overlooking aversions, offering assistance, and opening arms.

PRO*GOD
Sun, Apr 22, 2018
by
Jacob Vickers
Passage:
Matthew 22:34-40
&
Deuteronomy 6:4-5
Series:
PROTEST
Duration:
44 mins 13 secs
Christians say they are all about God, but our view of God is often questionable. We mix secularism, postmodernism, and personal disappointment into our mental images of God. We must return to the God of Scriptures. Moreover, we must give Him all of us: heart, soul, mind. This sermon describes the kind of devotion, culminating in celebration, expected of devoted followers of Jesus.

PRO*DO
Sun, Apr 15, 2018
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Matthew 28:18-20
Series:
PROTEST
Duration:
34 mins 1 sec
Learning is verified by our application. Practice, not study, perfects. All our Bible reading, ministry training, and Sunday School lessons mean little if we do not DO what we have been taught. In the Great Commission, Jesus challenges us to teach others to obey everything he commanded. We should be PRO*DO.

PRO*GO
Sun, Apr 08, 2018
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Matthew 28:16-20
Series:
PROTEST
Duration:
32 mins 32 secs
Sadly, Christians are known more for what they are against than for whom they follow and what they affirm. A real "protesting" Christian, however, stands for what Jesus stands for: The Great Commission and Great Commandment. In the opener to this four-part series, we call Christians to be "Pro-Go," on the move, living with purpose.

Fool's Speech
Sun, Apr 01, 2018
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
2 Corinthians 10:1-13:4
&
1 Corinthians 1:18-25
Duration:
40 mins 19 secs
Followers of Jesus sign up to play the fool. Biblical values and wisdom do not align with worldly aims and virtues. This was true in Jesus' day as it is now. However, in the modern era nonstop media allows constant pot-shots at Christians. And some criticism is earned! Nevertheless, the Fool's Way is not to fire back and play into the critic's hand, but to loosen up and love better. Like Jesus and Paul, we embrace the Cross rather than answer our critics.

Good Enough
Sun, Mar 25, 2018
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Philippians 4:10-13
Series:
Linked: Philippians
Duration:
40 mins 41 secs
Life is like the game of Life. Money comes in; money goes out. But what God gives is always good enough. This is the secret Paul learned - satisfaction and contentment do not come from prosperity or security but knowing our strength and provision come from God.

From Uh Oh to Ahhh
Sun, Mar 18, 2018
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Philippians 4:2-9
Series:
Linked: Philippians
Duration:
44 mins 13 secs
The world is a mess. We can easily be weighted down by burdens. Interpersonal conflicts and circumstances out of our control cause anxiety. Fortunately, all our Uh Ohs can serve as reminders to talk to the God of peace who can calm our restless hearts.

One More Step
Sun, Mar 11, 2018
by
Tim Sprankle
Passage:
Philippians 3:1-16
Series:
Linked: Philippians
Duration:
42 mins 17 secs
We follow Jesus one step at a time. We cannot allow religious rivals, our religious resume, or relational detractors bog us down. Rather, we take one more step to know Jesus more. And the best part: He is worth knowing.

Kudos

Passage:
Philippians 2:19-30
Series:
Linked: Philippians
Duration:
45 mins 46 secs
We rolled out the Red Carpet for this sermon and gave out Kudos to people who live like Jesus. This, of course, was the page straight out of Paul's letter, who commended Timothy and Epaphroditus for risking their reputation and life (respectively) to serve Jesus.

Spiritually Fit

Passage:
Philippians 2:12-18
Series:
Linked: Philippians
Duration:
46 mins 20 secs
We make plans in every are in life: finances, health, education, travel. Sadly, we fail to plan in the spiritual realm, and our lives suffer for it. Paul's encouragement to "work out our salvation" means having a plan and executing it. And the good news: God gives us the energy to move forward.
